The good news is you won’t have to wait until the end of November to pick up a copy of the DC Universe Online game. The game is available for pre-order now on the Steam site, and it has November 2, 2010 as the release date. The game will also have a $49.99 price point, but the site doesn’t mention anything about an ongoing subscription.
System Requirements
- OS: Windows XP 32-bit
- Processor: 2.4+ GHZ Dual Core Processor
- Memory: 2 GB RAM
- Hard Disk Space: 30 GB of Free Hard Drive Space
- Video: NVIDIA 7800GTX+ or ATI x1300+ Video Card
Nice that they are keeping it backwards compatible with the Windows XP system, and 30GB of hard drive space is nothing these days.

No PS3 details yet? I’ll have to get it on teh Ps3 as i dont have a decent PC at the moment :(
I believe it will be a dual launch as this is a Sony project.
The word through the grapevine is that there will be no subscription fee, perhaps they are doing it the guildwars way, or in game advertisement.
I did a search on it and while DCU’s wepage doesnt have anything on it other websites say there will be a $14.99 monthly fee.
No Mac love still? Boo. I would really hate to taint my new iMac by installing Windows, but this game has brought me closer to doing it than anything else.
Do it! Do it! I hate Macs, actually I hate Apple in general. I’m a major hypocrite though, I listen to all Major Spoilers podcasts on my iPod though, so how much weight do I carry.
Granted, my iPod is like a small 4GB crappy on that my brother-in-law gave me. I was just going to burn the podcasts onto CDRW’s, but they’re too long. I feel like I live in the stone age of technology.
WIll this game have a non-online element? I really don’t want to buy a console game that I need to pay14.99 to get anything out of it.
I highly doubt it. DCU ‘ONLINE’
that would be highly disapointing
Do you guys know how making you character works? I saw the thing about choosing your powers but do you get to do your own custome???
I believe so yes.
