Art Appreciation Moment of the Day: Mario Espinoza

Stephen SchleicherBy Stephen SchleicherMay 3, 20092 Comments1 Min Read

Surprisingly, X-Men Origins: Wolverine took the top spot at the box office this weekend, bringing in $87 million in the domestic box office – much higher than 20th Century Fox expected.  Guess that kinda blows those piracy concerns out of the water, although some insiders are suggesting that the early leak of the film did cost the studio around 20 million smackers.

Today’s art appreciation moment of the day comes from Mario Espinoza, who’s whipped up this radically distorted view of the overexposed hero.

It’s the Rob Liefeld version – huge, disproportionately muscled arms and tiny atrophied legs. All that’s missing is a bunch of pouches and a giant gun.
