I think during this whole Art Appreciation Moment of the Day experiment we’ll be seeing a lot of Adam Hughes work. Not just because I think he’s an awesome artist, or that he draws some of the most attractive women around, but that he can take those two and come up with an interesting twist that makes you smile.
A Batgirl convention sketch, from MegaCon, a few weeks ago. This is the second one I had to do for Ben Defeo, as I mistakenly gave the FIRST Batgirl to someone else (who also ordered a Batgirl). That’s why there’s a hint of color in this one; I’m Johnny Screw-up.
Convention sketch on Strathmore Sketch Paper, 11″ X 14″, pencil, Pitt Pen, and Copic Marker. And regret.

See if Hughes could make Babs as a grown woman look this cute, and a writer with a good head for girls like Babs – Simone, perhaps, or Johns, but not some misogynist hack like Dini – then I would buy the return of old-school Batgirl.
I would also if it turnsoutmytwisted theory is correct and her miniseries ends with the cure for the Anti-Life infection thingy and whatnot eventually getting Babs’ mind imprisoned in the body of Calculator’s daughter, or another young, healthy girl. Because that would be freaky weird, fascinating to read and intriguing to write.
