During the panel this evening at the San Diego Comic-Con, Top Cow announced a direct-to-consumer online apparel website with manufacturer Thunder Creek.
From the TopCowGear.com website, fans will be able to buy t-shirts, polos, sweat shirts, and other apparel that feature various Top Cow characters, logos, and company owned properties. What makes this online store different is Top Cow Gear will allow customers to customize their clothing from over 100 different designs.
“This deal with Thunder Creek will allow us to offer shirts with more characters and logos then we could ever hope to do with a traditional t-shirt license,” explained Vice President of Marketing & Sales for Top Cow, Filip Sablik, “With tons of designs and shirt options fans will really be able to personalize their shirt for a unique look.”
The TopCowGear.com website is expected to go live in August.
I only wish the other publishers would jump on this idea too, as I’m sick and tired of having to go through a single distributor to find my favorite Flash logo t-shirt, and stopping in at Hot Topic to get the flame emblazoned Superman logo, just doesn’t sit well with me.
