If you were surrounded by hordes of zombies, and the only other people around were your best friend and a really hot girl, would you be able to keep your friendship?
That’s the premise of Living with the Dead from Dark Horse Comics.
Straw and Whip are buddies who have somehow managed to live through a plague that’s left the world with seven billion brain-hungry zombies in its wake. They soon learn that Living with the Dead is harder than it looks as they try to keep up the appearance of being like the rest of the decomposing masses. Things really heat up when a damsel in distress needs their help.
Instead of taking the zombie genre too seriously, it is good to finally see creators coming around and starting to poke fun. In film, a genre ends up running its course when spoofs of the genre start to be made. Perhaps this and Army of Darkness v. Marvel Zombies are the first shots across the bow of the end of the zombie movement.
Living with the Dead will arrive on October 10 for $2.99.

The zombie movement may die down… but it WILL rise again.
