Jim Lee has been kind enough to give us a sneak peek at the next three covers to DC’s All Star Batman and Robin series. The pencils look great, and it looks like we’ll see more Black Canary and Batgirl before it is all done. According to Jim’s site, issue #5 SHOULD come out May 16, with issue #6 hitting stores July 25, and issue #7 arriving sometime in September.
Well hot damn! This is/was a series I had high hopes for, but to tell you the truth, before I read issue #5, I better reread the first four as I have completely forgotten what is going on.
Take the jump for the bigguns!

This is a book whose popularity mystifies me. Some of the customers at Gatekeeper (HUNTOON & GAGE, TOPEKA! Ask ’em where the hell the Ambush Bug back issues are!) tell me it’s so much more “realistic” than the regular Bat-books…
…which may be true, what with Batman’s JLA membership, but that doesn’t mean this book resembles reality in any way at all. Moreover, as nice as the art is, the story and dialogue have been about three steps up from Youngblood, and that’s damning with faint praise indeed.
I don’t think I’m the target audience. Did you know that “All-Star Batman And Robin” anagrams to “A Banal Drab Rant – Not Slim?”
