Supergirl vs. Supergirl. RIght, and that REALLY hasn’t happened before.
You know that sentence, Supergirls vs Supergirl, does two things; first, it describes any semblance of plot that have haunted that godawful character in centuries, and second it provides an accurate reason that I read Marvel, not DC.
What’s all this negativity? The new Supergirl can be annoying, but at the very least, she’s made a title with a female character sell. As for “Supergirl vs. Supergirl,” is it really all that much different than the Scarlet Spider debacle, or the Infinity Doppelgangers, or even Captain America vs. Iron Man? Comics make their bread and butter off fistfights and goofy plot twists, and that’s true of both Marvel or DC. Think happy thoughts, dangit!
And doesn’t Pete Woods draw a striking couple of women on that Amazons Attack cover? They both look like actual teenagers, and DIFFERENT teenagers at that.
That’s exactly what I thought when I saw the picture. Too often all characters look exactly alike *cough*michaelturner*cough*, yet here Woods has two very distinct women that I can actually tell who is who.
Exactly. Like the moment in the Turner drawn issue of Superman/Batman where Harbinger was murdered, but you couldn’t tell if it was Harbinger or Supergirl, because every woman in the book had the same triangle face with huge anime eyes…
I used to really like Turner’s work, but how awful/ugly is that cover to JLA 10? Don’t forget to click the thumbnails for the bigger view! :D
God, you’re right. Not only do we get sexist-symbol-girl bashing her way into the cover with both hands behind her back, we also get triangle-faces, pure blonde hair (urgh) and…what is all that space between her neck and her chest?
