The Washington Pavilion in Sioux Falls, South Dakota will be offering a free public reception of In My Lifetime: Illustrations by Tony Fleecs this Friday, October 27th from 5:30 – 7:00pm. Artist Tony Fleecs will be on hand to sign copies of In My Lifetime and discuss his work.
Fleecs won acclaim when In My Lifetime debuted from Silent Devil this past June. Warren Ellis, creator of PLANETARY, TRANSMETROPOLITAN & THE AUTHORITY called it: “Brave, brilliantly observed comedy, and the first autobio comic in years that hasn’t made me want to punch the author in the stomach.” Ain’t It Cool News stated: “In My Lifetime was not just a pleasant surprise, but it’s also one of the more enjoyable experiences I’ve had in my comic book reading so far this year.”
“Some artists take years to find their voice,” says Silent Devil publisher Christian Beranek, “when In My Lifetime came across my desk I read a piece of art that had already arrived. Expect great things from Tony Fleecs for years to come.”
In My Lifetime: Illustrations by Tony Fleecs will be on display in the Washington Pavilion Visual Arts Center’s Gallery F from October 13, 2006 through January 14, 2007.
