If you were wondering if that other X-Men: First Class image was fake or not, Matthew Vaughn confirms it wasn’t approved by him.
“I freaked out on them yesterday. I don’t know where the hell that came from. I don’t think it’s a Fox image. It’s not a pre-approved image. When I found out, I said, what the f*ck is this sh*t, and Fox is running around trying to figure out what happened as well. I agree. It’s like a bad photoshop, which maybe it was by someone. It didn’t reflect the movie. I was shocked when I saw it. I was like ‘Jesus Christ’…
Instead, Ain’t It Cool News landed the real first First Class teaser poster, that you should see in your local theater soon.

Saw some of the “non-fake” production stills. Still looks like a complete re-write of the X-men mythos, which sucks. The first class will always be Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Beast (sans blue hair), Angel and Iceman and the guy that they have cast as a young Xavier with hair just looks stupid. The Spiderman series didn’t need a “reboot”other than the leading man getting a bit long in the tooth but the Xmen series did. I had high hopes after the Wolverine movie but I’ll pass on this and shell out my bucks for the movies in the Iron Man/Avengers series. Bring on Captain America and Thor.
Answer: Spiderman, Xmen, Wolverine, Daredevil, Elektra, Fantastic Four.
Question: What franchises am I completely done with?
I’ll see the movie and judge it on its own merits rather than worrying if it fits comic continuity or not.
I see the movie probably because a freind will talk me into it and will hate not because it doesn’t conform to comic continuity, but because and respect for the source material is gone.
James McAvoy as the professor is a truly odd choice. Why make Xavier so young?
