Author: Stephen Schleicher

Stephen Schleicher began his career writing for the Digital Media Online community of sites, including Digital Producer and Creative Mac covering all aspects of the digital content creation industry. He then moved on to consumer technology, and began the Coolness Roundup podcast. A writing fool, Stephen has freelanced for Sci-Fi Channel's Technology Blog, and Gizmodo. Still longing for the good ol' days, Stephen launched Major Spoilers in July 2006, because he is a glutton for punishment. You can follow him on Twitter @MajorSpoilers and tell him your darkest secrets...

AAM/Markosia has announced its latest series, Ritual, will arrive in December.  The series is written by Andy Briggs, with art by Sawn McCauley. Publisher Harry Markos explains, ‘We’ve been working with Andy Briggs for a while now so when he approached me about the possibility of developing some new properties I jumped at the chance! Andy is incredibly talented and prolific with many ongoing projects at the moment, including movies, TV and as a published author of several books. I figured that he’s worth getting involved with now rather than wait until he has the sort of success that I…

I like the tag Oni Press is using for the upcoming Labor Days title – Revolution has a gigolo, and his name is Bags.  Bags just happens to be a down on his luck slacker, who’s stumbled across a mysterious videotape, and it’s up to him to find the truth. The graphic novel is by Philip Gelatt with art by Rick Lacy.  Oni Press has sent Major Spoilers a sneak peek of the 144 page black and white comic that arrives in October.

Marvel has finally done what I’ve been speculating for some time – putting original comic book stories on the Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited site. Iron Man: Fast Friends brings insight into the bond between Tony Stark/Iron Man and his best friend, Jim “Rhodey” Rhodes.  Weaving in and out of the events in the feature film, the digital comic series explores the kinship of the two through the eyes of Rhodey. Featuring original storylines by Paul Tobin, with art by Ronan Cliquet and covers by Dave Bullock, the weekly series launches September 17, 2008, in advance of the September 30 DVD…

It’s been announced that Artemis Fowl creator and writer Eoin Colfer is writing a sixth book for The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy series. Before his 2001 death, Adams had stated that he wanted to write a sixth book, “to finish Hitchhiker on a slightly more upbeat note.” The Salmon of Doubt, a collection of essays, short stories, and letters by Adams and other writers, was published in 2002. Even though fans think they know Douglas Adams, I really have misgivings about this announcement.  While Colfer says this will be the best thing he’s ever written, I was not all…

Dark Horse Comics has announced Jesse Reklaw will be going on the road to promote his book The Night of Your Life, a hardcover collecting five years of Reklaw’s comic strip, Slow Wave. “This is the largest book tour I’ve been on – fifteen different events in nine states,” admits Reklaw. “In some newsweeklies my comic strip has been running for over ten years.
