No idea why Rolling Stone would have this at a photo shoot, but there you go. I’d be more interested if it were Jessica Simpson – or better yet, Charisma Carpenter
With the messed up mailing schedule, I won’t get this week’s comics until Saturday, and since I’ve already reviewed everything I received in last week’s shipment, I have to review something in order to keep my streak going.
It’s a shorter week because of the Thanksgiving holiday here in the US of A, but that hasn’t kept Archie Comics from sending Major Spoilers a sneak peek at titles arriving in stores next week. Take the jump for Archie Double Digest #194, Betty #177, and Jughead #192.
As Dark Reign gets closer, look for that whole registration thing to begin to show cracks as heroes start to stand united against a common foe. via Marvel

NBC announced its midseason lineup yesterday, and while the network has stated Heroes will return in February, no start date was attached. Compare that to Knight Rider, which is getting a series reboot, and a confirmed January 7th start date. There are a couple of reasons both Chuck and Heroes are being vaguely scheduled for a February launch; the first being two reality contest shows the network wants to try out, and the other being those really low ratings. On the plus side, it looks like Pushing Daisies may get the axe from ABC, which means show creator Bryan Fuller…
Sometimes a short review is a good thing I wasn’t too keen on spinning the “Kingdom Come has come to Earth Prime†story line out of the JSA title and into one-shots and specials just to get more money out of readers. However, in the case of Kingdom Come Special: Magog, it was the best decision.
Final episodes of Battlestar Galactica are just around the corner, but to keep the action going, Dynamite Entertainment is taking readers back in time to the beginning of the Cylon War. The mini-series will follow the events leading up to the attack on Caprica, and is written by Joshua Ortega and Eric Nylund, with art by Nigel Raynor. “We’re taking this to a level we’ve never done before, and told the entire origin story! We’ve taken these characters and events and told their unseen stories, all under the watchful eyes of the producers (and with their blessing!),” explained Dynamite Associate…
Dynamite and Ennis appear to have a hit on their hands with Battlefields: The Night Witches, and the company has announced the second series to fall under the Battlefields banner will be Dear Billy. “As with our opening series -THE NIGHT WITCHES – I’m honored to be a part of this continued Battlefields series,” stated Dynamite Associate Editor Joe Rybandt in a prepared statement. “We work with some of the greatest talents out there and not only do we get The Boys month-in and month-out from Garth (and Darick and co.), but to get such strong, connective work from him…
Oh boy, nothing beats a girl in a bikini fighting Nazis. Well, I’m sure there are some things that could beat that, but I can’t talk about them here… While your mind contemplates that, check out this week’s sneak peek from Devil’s Due Publishing that includes Sheena, Drafted, and Echoes of the Damned.
This is the moment we’ve been waiting for; the final issue of Batman RIP. Put on your speculation hats and start guessing just what this sneak peek means. I’m not going to comment on the issue until I read the whole thing. Hopefully, I’ll be able to pick it up tomorrow morning.
This week, we offer up another series of After Show Discussion shows. These are conversations the Major Spoilers Crew has outside of the normal show, and range from sex in comics to our favorite animated features. In this installment (recorded July 30, 2008), Stephen and Matthew talk about DC history and characters that keep dying and coming back to life again and again. From Monstress getting blowed up real good, to Black Canary getting her canary cry back, and that tricky Ra’s al Ghul. Wait for the trade or get the single issues? Stephen spells out his Writing for the…
