New poster for iZombie lands online

Stephen SchleicherBy Stephen SchleicherJune 5, 20141 Comment1 Min Read

The CW has released a new poster for the upcoming television adaptation of Chris Roberson and Michael Allred’s iZombie series for Vertigo.

Rose Mciver plays the lead undead character, Liv with Rahul Kohli and Malcolm Goodwin backing her up.

This series doesn’t exactly follow the comic book series. As described over at IMDB:

A medical student who becomes a zombie joins a Coroner’s Office in order to gain access to the brains she must reluctantly eat so that she can maintain her humanity but every brain she eats, she also inherits their memories and must now solve their deaths with help from the Medical examiner and a police detective.

    And the Wiki for iZombie

Gwen can pass for a regular girl, but she needs to eat a brain once a month to keep from losing her memories and intelligence. As a gravedigger she has plenty of access to recently deceased people; when she consumes their brains she “inherits” part of the deceased’s thoughts.

iZombie won’t arrive until the midseason on The CW, but if it is half as good as the comic book series, it will be well worth the wait.

Anyone else notice the similarity between the IMDB description of CW’s iZombie, and the premise for Diana Rowland’s “My Life As a White Trash Zombie” series of books? [White Trash]’s main character works in a coroner’s office and partners with the police to solve crimes, where as iZombie’s main character worked as a gravedigger, and had vampire’s and werewolves for friends and enemies. Feels like CW’s iZombie will be in name only, but will be using Diana Rowland’s books for plot. Don’t think I’m cool with that …
