The Megazord has faced down terrestrial and cosmic foes alike again and again, not to mention the fact its superteen pilots are lead by a floating head that once destroyed all evil in the universe. A vote for the Megazord is a vote for jumping away from explosions.

      • dantemarx on June 12, 2012 12:22 pm

Voltron is made out of robot lions. Lions are the king of beasts. Voltron is made out of kings, which clearly trumps being made out of lesser giant robots.
        Also, I own a voltron plate and I don’t own a sentai plate, so, y’know, there’s that.

        • Matthew Peterson on June 12, 2012 6:26 pm

          Megazord is one-fifth tiger, one-fifth mastodon and three-fifths dinosaur…

    2. Praion on June 12, 2012 12:18 pm

Voltron was never a thing in germany and Power Rangers was way to violent to let my parents watch me so of course i vote for the MMPR.

    3. Thomas on June 12, 2012 12:22 pm

I went with the Voltron Force for one very simple reason, the teams. The Voltron Force is a team made up of military trained space explorer who are well versed in military tactics and strategy. And while Jason, Zack, Billy, Triny, and Kimberly are awesome! They are still just five normal teenager with attitude .

    4. MaximusRift on June 12, 2012 12:24 pm

Voltron wins hands down. It has more attacks that the Megazord and can actually fly. Honestly they have a better chance fighting them on foot.

Also, the original name of the Lion Force Voltron show is Beast King Go Lion while the Vehicle Voltron original name for their show is Armored Fleet Dairugger XV. There was going to be a 3rd Voltron show based on Lightspeed Electriod Albegas, but that never came to since the US only liked the Lion Force Voltron.

Funny to pick two shows that were completely re-tooled in bringing them to American shores. Most notably that both Voltron (GoLion) and Megazord (Daizyujin) were sentient in their original.

As for this fight, obviously both would have to summon their sword to fight each other. I would give an edge to Voltron in maneuverability since it often flies and the Megazord seems mostly resigned to stiffly stumble around.

In the end though, I think they are both unbeatable so this is a draw.

    6. Georgedubya on June 12, 2012 12:52 pm

While Power Rangers will always have a special place in my heart, I’ve got to give the win to Voltron. Voltron is bigger and can fly.

    7. matthew on June 12, 2012 12:59 pm

im not sure if they qualify as robots. but voltron has it all the way. throw some sparklers at megazord and its going to fall down .

    8. Xaxelbrax on June 12, 2012 1:03 pm

It depends. Which is the bad guy in this fight?

    9. BadRPiggy on June 12, 2012 1:08 pm

Megazord would win hands down, robot dinosaurs beat robot lions….unless Voltron can summon down a giant meteorite or something. Plus the Megazord has something that Voltron lacks, back-up plans, with Titanus and the Dragonzord!

    10. The crazy 8 on June 12, 2012 1:18 pm

Now if the fighting robots explode like in any good episode of power rangers. The pilots of the megazord are super teenage ningas so they can go and pwn them in a shadow of collosus style beat down.

    11. Kirby on June 12, 2012 1:25 pm

Megazord can get the power up from the Dragonzord and Titanus, so as much as I do like Voltron, Megazord wins this with ease.

    12. Ricco on June 12, 2012 3:49 pm

      I vote for Matthew.

    13. Alisha Mynx on June 12, 2012 4:29 pm

This is giving me a headache thinking about it. Not because it is a bad question or anything, but it has too many factors.

If I remember correctly, Voltron is all tech, right? Nothing mystical or magical about it? And it is going to be fighting a robot that has at least some magical elements to it? Then it would be Dino Megazord winning.

However, give both mech to inexperienced pilots, and you somewhat even the ground a bit. Provided they don’t trip over a small building or something, it’ll be a pretty close fight.

Pit the “original” Japanese versions against each other, sentient robot vs sentient robot, and things go a little differently.

Screw it, I’m not voting. I can’t figure an outcome with any clear winner (except the fans who would want to see the fight take place).

    14. MaSQuE on June 12, 2012 5:05 pm

      Obviously, The Megazord would win.
As you know, it’s a full-size prop filled with regularly sized people moving it around. It’s basically an army in disguise.

    15. aerohalen1 on June 12, 2012 5:09 pm

      Form blazing sword!game,set match.

    16. Scott on June 12, 2012 5:11 pm

Clearly the original would smack down the knock off. VOLTRON FOR THE WIN!

      • Alisha Mynx on June 12, 2012 7:01 pm

Except Voltron’s source material is in part inspired by the Super Sentai series and aired originally in Japan in 1981. The Super Sentai series (the series that the source material for Power Rangers comes from, which started in the mid 70’s) started using giant combined robos in the late 70’s. So, technically, Voltron would be the knockoff (although I wouldn’t consider it that).

    17. Kittymio on June 12, 2012 7:47 pm

      Aquarion would whoop them both.

    18. Brewmaster Wansu on June 12, 2012 8:07 pm

Normally I’d go with Matthew’s principle of the Original would win, but in this case I went with the Megazord. This is mainly because it can be added on to. In it’s complete form, the Megazord has the Dragonzord linked to it as well as Tor the Zord tank carrier. This would cause Voltron to be seriously outgunned and not be able to get in close enough for a hit with the Blazing Sword.

    19. Brewmaster Wansu on June 12, 2012 8:09 pm

Apologies, Tor was in the second season, it was Titanus in the first.

    20. Chris on June 12, 2012 10:44 pm

i wanted to vote Megazord, but the photo was so horrible I had to go with Voltron.
