For some odd reason, the last several days have me thinking once again about Charlotte Braun, the Peanuts character that Charles Schulz “killed” when a reader wrote to him expressing her annoyance at the character, and the response Schulz sent.
Kinda makes you think about a lot of things. I probably would have done the same thing.

Is she up on Women In Refrigerators? Someone alert Gail Simone!
I don’t remember a “Charlotte Braun” character when I reread my father’s original lil’ book Peanuts collections a bajillion years ago. Maybe she wasn’t included in the reprints, or I forgot, or she wasn’t mentioned enough by name for me to remember her. I certainly remember several of the female characters exhibiting proto-Lucy behavior however. The odd name choice seems peculiar, and I’m tempted to visit snopes to see if this is a hoax.
The Peanuts wikia mentions that she only (re?)appeared in a “Complete Peanuts”, and that the original letter is in the Library of Congress!
I realize that “Sparky” rubbed several people the wrong way, but that’s a pretty cruel letter if authentic!
