DC Comics is launching a new imprint called MINX, which will publish original graphic novels for teenage girls. MINX will be the first imprint from a major American comic book publisher devoted to reaching the teenage girl. MINX will launch in May 2007 with the publication of THE PLAIN JANES, a graphic novel written by young adult novelist Cecil Castellucci (The Queen of Cool and Boy Proof) and illustrated by Jim Rugg (the creator and artist of Street Angel). Seth Green and Hugh Sterbakov will be appearing at Atomic Comics Chandler Fashion Center on Wednesday, December 13th 2006 from 5PM to 7:30PM. The popular duo will be appearing at the legendary comic book retail chain to promote the release of their new series Freshmen II, which Green and Sterbakov co-created together. The event will coincide with the release of Freshmen II #2, which will debut in comic shops across the country that day.

Red Sonja celebrates her 35th Anniversary in a big way. Dynamite Entertainment let us know they will be releasing a 35th Anniversary poster this April. The poster measures 18″ x 24″ and is based on the cover of Red Sonja #12 by Jim Lee and Richard Isanove. Dynamite stated, “Jim Lee and Richard Isanove really brought the She-Devil to a whole new artistic level with their cover to issue #12, making it ideal for the Dynamite Select Poster commemorating the 35 years of Red Sonja in comic books.” The poster is available for pre-order for $10.99. via Dynamite Entertainment (link)
