Here are some more images from the two previews for Doctor Strange and Iron Man animated DVDs that are on the upcoming Ultimate Avengers 2 DVD (August 8 ). Both of the two direct to DVD movies tell origin stories of the lead characters, so you don’t have to see either of the Ultimate Avenger movies to know what is going on. A couple of facts: Iron Man will be a 3D generated character, while Doctor Strange will be a real S.O.B. at the beginning of the feature.

Just a few more days before Ultimate Avengers 2 is released on DVD, but we got an early look at the trailer for one of the next DVD releases from Lionsgate and Marvel Studios.  Doctor Strange will more than likely release in the first quarter of 2007, and will be an origin story. Sony Pictures TV has launched a direct to DVD to distribute projects that have no network attachments. The new division is called Culver Entertainment and will launch with a 13 part animated Spider-Man collection. The DVD will be released next year. Culver Entertainment will focus on franchise stuff first, and eventually release original scripted comedies and dramas. While the company is currently in talks with potential advertisers, they are also considering broadband distribution for their content as well. Via Variety (link)
