The company has announced it has added Tom Fassbender to its team as the new VP of Publishing for the company. Fassbender has been on the Top 100 Most Influential People in Comics and has worked in a variety of positions before joining Mark Waid and Chip Mosher at the company. Ice Cube’s company is in the process of adapting the Kieth Giffen Andy Kuhn graphic novel 10 for the big screen. Gustin Nash and Jesse Cale adapted the graphic novel by Shannon Eric Denton and Keith Giffen. Story revolves around a guy who gets what appears to be junk mail informing him he’s in a competition with nine others and that whoever gets out alive wins. He throws away the letter, but then a man toting an ax shows up at the door. There’s no word on potential release date or other casting news at this time. via Variety
The big announcement at the Boom! Studios panel last night was Mark Waid moving to the Editor-in-Chief position with the company (see below). Even with that big bombshell, there were plenty of other highlights from the panel as well.
In a surprise announcement, Mark Waid has been named as the Editor-in-Chief for Boom! Studios. While he will still honor his commitments on Flash and other titles he is currently working on, he will be free to create his own creator owned universe at Boom!
