I’m not a big fan of using the Wacom tablet when I do my compositing and art work, I’d much rather have a Cintiq – but alas my funds and the cost of a Cintiq are not compatible at the moment. However, Wacom has recently announced the pending release of Inkling, that allows you to take your traditional drawing and turn it into bitmapped or vector art without a scanner. Take the jump for a look at Inkling.
Finally, someone took the time to calculate a mathematical equation that generates the Batman logo on graph paper. GRAPH PAPER, KIDS! Thanks for the tip, Jimmy! via Boing Boing
Most of the time, when I enter my local big grocery/retail store (let’s call it Targ-mart), I could give two shits craps doo-doos about the wall of art the bored shelf stockers build out of soft drink products. HOWEVER, now that I’ve seen this awesome wall of Super Mario Bros. art made completely out of Coke and Coke owned soft drinks, I’m sold! Not that I’d drink Coke products – Colt 45 all the way! Now, if only the pimply-faced dork store clerk at my store would get that creative, the store might have more of my money than it…

If you ever sat around wondering what great works of literature would look like in comic book form, cast your eyes on Kevin Colden’s interpretation of A Clockwork Orange.
Ever wonder what your favorite Muppets would look like if they weren’t made of foam and flocked fabric? “Nacho” did, and he spent some time in the workshop with some silicone and came up with a very different take on Bert (of Bert and Ernie fame). This is so disturbing, you’re going to need to take the jump to see the sculpture in all its glory.
If you haven’t heard of the Rob Granito situation, then you are missing out on one of the biggest fraud crackdowns we’ve seen in recent years. Sure there are those who go after the bastards who swipe legitimate artist’s work, tweak a few things, and them slap them on T-shirts to sell on line for a quick buck, but the Granito situation is much different than that. Rob has not only been accused of swiping others art, but has claimed that he has worked with and for everyone under the sun. And he’s been doing it for a decade, if…
Atomic Robo artist Scott Wegener is running an art auction to raise money for the relief effort in Japan, and he needs everyone’s help – including yours!
Disney/Pixar has released four new World Grand Prix Posters for the upcoming Cars 2 movie. Take the jump for the stylized awesome.
According to Bleeding Cool, an iconic splash page from the 1980’s may be going up on the auction block in a few weeks. The site reports that Frank Miller and Klaus Janson’s splash page from the Hunt the Dark Knight issue of The Dark Knight Returns will be offered up to someone who has really deep pockets. In the last several months pages from The Watchmen, Captain America, and Superman have hit the art auction circuit, and have fetched some pretty high prices. Whoever gets this piece should feel pretty happy to have this on display in their space. And…
One of our faithful Spoilerites sent me the link to this image over at Wil Wheaton’s website. There’s no direct link back to the source, but whoever did this Kerry Callen did the great work, and gets the nod for bringing a smile to my face today! Thanks for the tip! And thanks to Josh Mayfield for pointing us (and you) to the source! via Wil Wheaton
Check out this awesome optical illusion. Do you see Wolverine, or two Batmen? I’ve always had a love/hate relationship with optical illusions. Sometimes I see what needs to be seen, and other times I’m standing in the bathroom for hours staring at those damn Magic Eye posters waiting for the butterfly to appear. Thanks to Hector for the tip!
