The Gotham by Gaslight Batman has had a pretty good run since his original appearance by Mike Mignola and Brian Augustyn – it’s just too bad about getting turned into a creature of the night in the Countdown Arena. And while we’ve already seen the Steampunk Blue Beetle, what would the rest of the JLA look like? The guy that runs Sillof’s Workshop has the answer with Gaslight Justice League. Stunningly beautiful mods borrowing parts from other figures along with custom molds the Gaslight Justice League is one that DC Direct or Mattel might want to pick up and make…

Diamond Select Toys has announced the next new figure from retro-inspired Star Trek cloth figures will be Khan Noonien Singh. Unlike the Kirk, Spock, and Klingon figures that were based on molds from the original Mego line, Khan is a brand new sculpt that features the same level as detail as the rest of the line. Genetically engineered during Earth’s Eugenics Wars centuries earlier, Khan attempted to gain the crew’s trust and take over the Enterprise for his own purposes. Barely stopped by Captain James T. Kirk, Khan was exiled to the distant Ceti Alpha V and forgotten. Refusing to…

Now these are some Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle action figures I would actually go out and buy. Based on the original artwork of Eastman and Laird, the first series of TMNT figures feature the turtles in a half shelf wielding their weapons of choice. Take the jump for a closer look.

You know someone has too much time on their hands when they start digging around the toy chest looking for the most ill-conceived action figures.  The fine people at Cracked.com have come up with such a list, and if you think you know what action figure is the worst, better head over to the site and check it out for yourself. Personally, I would have gone with Santa Yoda… via Cracked.com

I was drifting through my local pop culture store the other day, when I happend across the Kirk and Klingon figures from Diamond Select Toys.  You know, the ones that are made from the original Mego molds from the 1970s? The company is at it again with their latest 8-inch figures – Mego’s Planet of the Apes.  Looks like they’ll be using the same molds (no pictures from the company at this time), and will roll out the Cornelius and Ursus figures first.  Later, the line will feature Dr. Zaius and Dr. Zira figures. What? No Charlton Heston with “Finally,…

Diamond Select Toys has announced an exclusive Season One William T. Riker action figure as part of the Star Trek: The Next Generation 25th 20th Anniversary. Holy crap, has it been 20 years since the debut of The Next Generation? I suddenly feel really really old. For those wanting to get their mitts on the figure head over to Suncoast and F.Y.E. Although with the recent troubles Suncoast has had, you better get there in the next 30 days before the company declares bankruptcy. via Diamond Select Toys

Well here is a welcome addition to the Justice League Unlimited line – Hawkman. Now you can recreate your favorite love triangle with Hawkman, Hawkgirl, and Green Lantern, or you can go the other way with Green Lantern, Hawkgirl, and Vixen (with Hawkman standing stoically in the corner while his mace gently weeps). The only downside I see to Hawkman is the figure uses the same body and wings as Winged Amazo, with the head being the only new item – well, there is the paint job dealie too. Hawkman comes as part of a 3-pack featuring Rocket Red and…

Variety is reporting the toy company Mattel has made a deal with Warner Bros. to become the official toy maker for DC Comics. But the new multi-year deal makes Mattel the master toy licensee for the complete DC portfolio, which includes characters such as Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, the Joker, the Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Green Arrow and Justice League. What is really cool about this deal, is it not only includes current and future films and properties, but also DC items from the past. Since Mattel already has the Justice League line, let’s hope this new deal will allow…

I love Justice League Unlimited, and I’ve been heavily collecting the JL/JLU action figures since they were first released. Unfortunately, it is hard to nail down exactly what figures Mattel plans on releasing next, unless you attend one of the major cons or if you head over to Action Figure Insider. The 2007 wave is already underway with some of the figures already in stores (but not Wal-Mart). Action Figure Insider has a breakdown of all the 3-packs including Sandman, the recently deceased Lightray, huntress, Star Sapphire and more! via Action Figure Insider
