Marvel has announced that Nick Spencer and Scot Eaton take on creative duties for the Secret Avengers beginning with issue #13.
Steve Rogers, America’s super-soldier, is well accustomed to making tough calls, but none may be tougher than the ones he’ll have to make to successfully sabotage the abominable threat of Fear Itself. As the Marvel Universe begins fall like dominoes before one of his bitterest enemies, Rogers will have to recruit a new group of heroes into the fight for freedom of mind, body and soul…and confront the ideals he upheld as the Sentinel of Liberty head-on!
“I couldn’t be happier to have a rising talent like Nick taking the reins of Secret Avengers as we head into Fear Itself” exclaimed SVP of Publishing, Tom Brevoort in a prepared statement. “As evidenced in his THUNDER Agents work, Nick’s got a thoroughly modern approach to the espionage tale, and I expect him to do great things with Steve’s covert squad.”
Secret Avengers #13 arrives in May, and has a $3.99 cover price.

This artwork is magnificent.
I’m not following X-Men or Secret Avengers, so tell me…Is Beast back to his pre-feline look? How?
If not, he should be. Never did like the “cat look” thing.
Good to hear Nick Spencer is working on multiple books. I do hope he stays on THUNDER Agents because it has been a solid read every month and I like his method of explaining the back history of the team. I think a company will try and snag him as an exclusive writer in no time.
That’s fantastic artwork! I only have one little nit-pick on the detailing: the slide release lever on that H&K USP45 with silencer-adaptable barrel is on the wrong side of the slide. It should be on the left side. Other than that, I really like it.
