    [SDCC’17] Lion Forge announces programming schedule for CCI

    PRESS RELEASE – 

    With just over a week before thousands of fans again descend upon the San Diego Convention Center and surrounding Gaslamp District, the St. Louis publisher known for their promise of “Comics for Everyone” announces four different panels to appeal to multiple aspects of fandom!

    The Lion Forge 2017 programming schedule kicks off on Thursday, and continues throughout the weekend!

    The European Comics Wave, Thursday, 7/20/17, 6:00pm – 7:00pm, Room: 29AB

    Description: Many readers are used to American comics being formatted a certain way. But all over the world the comic making standards differs from country to country. We’ll talk about the BD (Bandes Dessinees) format with a panel of publishers and creators as well as discuss the exciting wave of European comics being brought over to America.

    Using comics support different learning styles in the classroom, Friday, 7/21/17, 10:00am – 11:00am, Room: Shiley Special Events Suite, San Diego Central Public Library

    Description: A discussion about the benefits of using comics in the classroom to address the educational needs of differentiated learners. As school’s struggle to ensure that students are not left behind in the learning process and to extend curriculum to challenge more advanced students, educators must adapt their classroom to the developing needs of their students. Join us as we talk about visual literacy and the advantages of using sequential art to help connect with students and convey difficult concepts with ease.

    DESCRIPTION: Growth and change in 2016 catapulted Lion Forge/Roar Comics onto comics’ center stage. Join Lion Forge along with special guest writers and artist as they give a detailed peek at what Lion Forge has planned for 2017 as well as glimpse of what’s to come in 2018.

    come hear a diverse mix of creators and book sellers have a discussion on diverse characters in comics, finding and audience for them as well as the impact the push for inclusiveness has had on the comics both creatively and financially.
