Guess I’m out of the loop, but I didn’t even realize Paramount was interested in doing another Transformers movie, let alone hiring Mark Wahlberg to star in the movie.
Michael Bay is once again directing, but this time out, the fourth movie will have no connection to the previous three. We already know that Bay has banned Megan Fox from the films, and word is Shia LaBeouf has declined any future appearances in the film. We don’t know what the story is about (right now), but Ehren Kreueger has written the script as the movie prepares for production. Could this mean that Bay is eying a reboot or relaunch of the series, or could this be a story set in the same universe, but a different group of human adventurers?
Transformers 4 is scheduled to arrive in theaters on June 27, 2014.

The previous movies have had a small focus point on a small group of people interacting with the Autobots and Decepticons, yet there are quite a few people working for NEST. There have been tidbits of the story released on toys and in novels that suggest that around the same time Sam was palling around with Bumblebee and the gang, other Transformers were working with others or otherwise interacting with other people elsewhere.
My guess is that they are just going to shift focus from Sam to someone else who gets close to the Autobots of the same timeline. Maybe he’s pals with the movie version of Hot Rod, who I think has only been seen as a toy up to this point.
I guess the old horse is still twitching so they want to flog it some more. The pity of the whole thing was that the first Transformer was actually a good movie! The rest of them shall not be mentioned.
I’m not really a fan of Michael Bay and barely remember the third movie. I dunno if I’m going to give this a fourth chance and will probably just see it when it comes out on DVD or Netflix or something.
I hope it’s not a total reboot and just follows a different group of people in the same storyline. I mean, Bumblebee will probably not make an appearance, but it gives the other autobots a chance to shine. And I really did like the first movie. The first time I saw Optimus in that one I had chills (I’m a bit of an odd person).
I can’t wait for the next “animated” series. I wish someone would throw money at me for crap like that. Yes I hated the movies, much.
