What did the studio learn between the first G.I. Joe movie and the new one that is scheduled to arrive June 29, 2012?  Maybe how to make a movie that actually looks decent?

Don’t believe me?  Check out the brand new trailer!

When Cobra spy Zartan has most of the Joes assassinated, the remaining Joes band together to strike back.

Looks better than the first, but I almost feel like it should be called “Storm Shadow: The Movie”

Not that I’m complaining…love me some Storm Shadow.

The trailer is reviving my hopes for the franchise. The first movie wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t what I (selfishly) wanted from GI Joe. The ’80s cartoon set a new standard in cartoon storylines but the movie reminded me of a host of other movies over the past fifteen years; just different faces.

I admire the courage of the second movie — destroying a host of the characters from the first movie… and of course metaphorically “destroying” the campiness of the first movie. I’m looking forward to the team that remains with the addition of Roadblock and “Joe.”

      Yo Joe!

I’m surprised Lucas didn’t sue the original GI Joe movie for ripping off his deathstar, Cobra had that under water base with a death ‘freeze ray’ and the joes were practically flying around in x-wing subs.
