Gotta love that Frank Cho art, and it isn’t too bad in the Mighty Avengers #3. This issue features the return of Ultron, but not the Ultron of old, a brand new female version of the villain.
Take the jump for the purdy pictures.

You know this Team is more qualified for the name ‘Defenders’? After all, the only thing they seem to be avenging are their Ego’s, public opinion, and Jan’s dignity now that she knows Ultron has based itself on her – their job is ‘Defending’ New York! .
And meanwhile, the NA have to avenge Steve Rogers, all the other deaths from CW, their Civil rights, their dignity, and a mistreated Echo.
Guess we know who the REAL Avengers are…
Oh and…don’t Wonder Man look like Richard Nixon in that second page?
“Iiiiii am not an iiionic croooook.” Wondy is the only Avenger who suffers under Cho’s penmanship, in my view, though I’m not thrilled with The Wasp’s circa-1923 hairdo. This is a woman who prides herself on being the cutting edge of fashion…
It should be noted that there are more former Defenders on the NA team (Doctor Strange, Luke Cage, possibly Clint Barton, as well as guest stars Iron Fist & Spider-Man) than on the MA (one-time guest star Ms. Marvel, and Ares was the villain in that book twice).
Maybe we should have Tony’s team be called Avenger-Factor, and Luke’s team Avenger-Force, then they can just call the Champions Avenger-Calibre and save Dennis Malloney a few bucks.
Since Sentry doesn’t really work for Marvel, it’d be neat if Ultron-Double D infected him with the Marvel Zombie virus and sent him packin’…
It ain’t about whot hey are…it’s the things they do, that DEFINE them.
Mmm… No argument there. For all Marvel’s talk of “balance,” their universe in the past has celebrated the underdog. Spider-Man, Wolverine, The Hulk, ‘Cap’s Kooky Quartet,’ were all about overcoming the odds. By creating the situation where Luke’s team (which, you’ll notice has all the fan-favorite characters on it) they’ve created a world where we naturally root for them and consider Iron Man a tool.
I still don’t think that this is coincidence, mind you, I think something is going to happen that changes everything, but I just don’t know if I can slog through another issue of The Iron Dictator telling us how this is all for our own good.
Makes a kind of Symmetry, doesn’t it? First, Ultron was modelled aorund a mixture of Dragon-man and Yellowjacket (see the little ear-thingies), now it’s based around Yellowjacket’s wife.
Oh, you heard about Pym?
