Mad Cave Studios announced the November 2025 release of Groupies, a slasher-tinted horror graphic novel by Helen Mullane and Tula Lotay.
According to the publisher, Groupies is a ripped-from-the-headlines type tale based on interviews from 1970s fanzines.
On a wild night out at the Fox Club, the coolest, hottest, and wildest girls on (or off) the Strip meet the edgiest up-and-coming band in town, and sparks fly. The Moon Show’s stardom is about to rise as they celebrate getting signed to the legendary Asmodeus Records. As the story unfolds, the excited groupies head on tour with the band – living the dream – but their tuned-in and dropped-out idyll is about to unravel. Something dark is pulling the strings, and the girls are about to discover the true cost of rock and roll.
“Groupies is a deeply personal book, born from mine and Lisa’s shared obsession with pulp horror, music, and the strange contradictions of being a woman in the world,” said Helen Mullane. ‘We wanted each girl’s voice to shine through—because groupies aren’t just muses or clichés, they’re complicated, messy, and real. I’m thrilled to be teaming with Mad Cave for the print release, giving readers the full, woozy experience of Tula Lotay’s stunning art—plus some new extras that make our trippy, dangerous world even richer.”
Groupies was originally released as a digital comic by Comixology Originals, and will get a print release on November 4, 2025.
