Dark Horse Comics announced Mike Mignola and Christopher Golden have teamed with artist Bridgit Connell for Lady Baltimore: The Daughters of Medusa, a new chapter in the Outerverse Universe of books.
“We’re thrilled to jump back into the Outerverse with this new Lady Baltimore adventure,” said Christopher Golden in a press release from Dark Horse Comics. “This world continues to evolve and surprise us all as we create it, and what a gift it is to have Bridgit Connell bringing these stories to life. It’s a lot to ask of an artist to give us pages that are both beautiful and horrifying, sometimes in the same panel, and Bridgit nails it every time. I can’t wait till readers get their hands on this story!”
Following the events of 2021’s Lady Baltimore: The Witch Queens and 2023’s Lady Baltimore: The Dream of Ikelos – Lady Baltimore: The Daughters of Medusa throws readers back into the thick of a supernatural world war against occult nazis. Sofia Baltimore and her team of adventurers travel to Paris to investigate reports of spies and soldiers being turned to stone by a gorgon. Can Lady Baltimore defeat the monster without becoming one herself?
Artist Bridgit Connell added, “The script for this story is one of my favorite monster stories I’ve ever read. Not only does Chris know how to pay homage to the lore of the gorgon, but the work he does with the characters involved is so meaningful and heart-wrenching. I think readers are going to enjoy this adventure, I certainly did!”
