FIRST LOOK: Universal Monsters: Frankenstein #1

Robot OverlordBy Robot OverlordJuly 10, 20242 Mins Read

Skybound Entertainment continues its Universal Monsters line of comic books with the August 2024 release of Universal Monsters: Frankenstein #1 by Michael Walsh.

Here is what we know about the series and first issue:

Longtime fans of the iconic 1931 Frankenstein film and new fans alike can expect to be completely enthralled by this new horror classic when issue #1 hits comic book shops on August 28, 2024.

Comics superstar Michael Walsh resurrects one of the most iconic monsters of all time in a jaw-dropping, re-imagining of the horror hit. Readers can expect each issue of the limited series to tell the shocking story behind one of the corpse parts used to create the unforgettable monster in the original film.

In this first issue, Dr. Henry Frankenstein begins his unholy quest to create life by robbing the grave of a decorated police officer to find necessary parts, specifically a strong pair of hands. But little does he know that the corpse has a son who is mourning a father – and that this young boy will forever change Frankenstein’s life.

In addition to the main cover by Michael Walsh, Universal Monsters: Frankenstein #1 boasts a variant cover lineup from top artists including Joshua Middleton, David Talaski and Christian Ward, as well as the first of a four-part connecting cover series by Francesco Francavilla and a blank sketch cover.
