Iron Circus Comics announced the Jun 2023 release of Mage and the Endless Unkown, a new fantasy/horror OGN from SJ Miller.
Miller tells a beguiling story in a series of arresting single-panel pages, densely packed with detail and the kind of expressive cartooning skill normally seen in artists with many more books under their belts. When a nameless hero wakes up in a strange world at the start of a magical adventure, Miller immediately undermines that traditional start with a sudden turn towards Junji Ito-esque horror and bloodshed that knocks you off balance. From there, the stakes are amped, and you know the young mage is in for it!
The mystery of the quest deepens as it’s explored, and the book rewards a slow, immersive read with a surprisingly emotional journey to a bizarre new world.
