At MegaCon Orlando, Marvel Comics held a panel titled “FALL OF X” to discuss the X-Men’s upcoming new era. Senior Editor Jordan D. White and a group of X-Men creators, including writers Gerry Duggan and Benjamin Percy and artist Joshua Cassara, shared information about new series, stories, and changes on the way.
Since 2019, the X-Men series has seen mutants thriving on the island nation of Krakoa. However, this prosperity may be threatened starting in July with the release of X-MEN: HELLFIRE GALA #1. The panel featured a new teaser image by Bryan Hitch and a list of FALL OF X tie-in titles, some of which are yet to be announced.
Additional titles and issues discussed during the panel include:
- The return of the Avengers’ Unity Squad in a new UNCANNY AVENGERS series by Gerry Duggan and Javier Garrón. The team will consist of Captain America, Rogue, Deadpool, Quicksilver, Psylocke, and Penance, who must solve the mystery of the new Captain Krakoa and prevent a global conflict.
- Gerry Duggan will continue writing X-MEN throughout FALL OF X, with some changes to the cast, including the addition of fan-favorite character Kate Pryde, who will now go by the name SHADOWKAT.
- Benjamin Percy’s X-FORCE series will introduce a new team leader, Colossus, with Daniel Acuña as the cover artist.
- Percy’s WOLVERINE series will feature a crossover with GHOST RIDER in a four-part story called GHOST RIDER/WOLVERINE: WEAPONS OF VENGEANCE, with artwork by Geoff Shaw.
A demonic serial killer is murdering innocent mutants. But what is it about this deadly new villain that forces our two heroes to team up? And what buried secret does he share with Wolverine and Ghost Rider’s never-before-seen very first meeting in the past? The crossover kicks off in August’s GHOST RIDER/WOLVERINE: WEAPONS OF VENGEANCE ALPHA before unfolding in the pages of GHOST RIDER #17 and WOLVERINE #36 and coming to a fiery conclusion in GHOST RIDER/WOLVERINE: WEAPONS OF VENGEANCE OMEGA.
- INVINCIBLE IRON MAN #9, by Gerry Duggan and Juan Frigeri, will showcase Tony Stark’s new stealth armor and his alliance with Emma Frost, as he plays a key role in FALL OF X.
