Last weekend was the D23 Expo in Anaheim, California. Per Disney, D23 Expo is “the ultimate Disney fan event, D23 Expo celebrates the Walt Disney Company and all of its beloved stories and worlds.” With the lack of announcements from Marvel Studios at San Diego Comic-Con earlier this year many geeky eyes were turned on Anaheim over the past few days in the hopes of finally meeting the long-rumoured Fantastic Four cast or additional announcements beyond title cards.
Animated series and movies, international Disney Parks announcements, Lucas Film, and Marvel Studios were on display across the three day Expo and each made a handful of announcements, albeit nothing on the scale social media seemed to be anticipating.
For Spoilerites who were unable to attend in person we have a breakdown of all the biggest announcements from D23 Expo to keep you up to date on everything Walt Disney Studios has in the hopper.
Thunderbolts
Per Marvel.com:
Cast members in attendance for the presentation include returning Marvel faces: David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Wyatt Russell as John Walker/U.S.Agent, with Florence Pugh reprising her role as Yelena Belova and sending in a video message for the audience.
Of all the Marvel news to break from D23 Expo, the Thunderbolts announcement definitely took the weekend – even amidst the comparisons to last year’s The Suicide Squad.

Percy Jackson New Trailer
Percy Jackson and the Olympians is getting another chance at on-screen life following the mixed-reaction to the earlier films in the form of a Disney+ live action series. No release date has yet been given aside from “Streaming Soon” for these children of the Greek pantheon, however the title reads “2023”. I would say hold on for more announcements from the Riordan-world soon.
