Their injuries begin to catch up with them as they struggle on to reach a safe haven. But things are just getting worse. Now, something else watches them from the foliage, keeping track of their progress.
CHRISTOPHER: I love the main character and the friends she has developed. Last issue things were getting desperate and I am desperate to see if and how they survive.

Artist: Roge Antonio and Stephen Segovia
Publisher: Marvel Comics

SOLICITATION: A NEW EVIL BEYOND UNDERSTANDING COMES TO THE MARVEL UNIVERSE! A seemingly unstoppable force has invaded the Marvel Universe, and it’s going to take every hero the streets of New York has to stop it! A strange substance is taking over heroes and citizens alike, draining them of their life force, stealing their knowledge and abilities, and neither science nor magic can stop it! Where did it come from? Can anything destroy it? And who will fall to its awful, overwhelming power?
CHRISTOPHER: The mini series has been okay so far but I knew I wanted to read it when I saw Jessica Jones on the cover. There is potential for family tension between the heroes in this story and I am hoping to see it pay off.
FLASH FORWARD #2
Writer: Scott Lobdell

Publisher: DC Comics
Cover Price: $3.99
SOLICITATION: When the border between the Multiverse and the Dark Multiverse starts to buckle, who do you turn to? The answer: Wally West. Once the Fastest Man Alive, he’s now a man with nothing left to live for. Will Tempus Fuginaut’s chosen champion rise to the occasion and fight back the demons of the darkness, or will Wally’s own demons win the day?
MATTHEW: I truly hated the first issue of this book, but I seldom learn my lesson, just like DC hasn’t learned to stop trying to make “fetch” happen with the Dark Multiverse. And the cycle continues
THE MASK: I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE MASK #1
Writer: Christopher Cantwell
Artist: Patric Reynolds
Publisher: Dark Horse Comics
Cover Price: $3.99
SOLICITATION: Years ago, a weird mask of unknown origin and limitless power was buried in the cement of an apartment building’s basement floor. Edge City and its residents have all but forgotten the mysterious green-faced killer known only as “Big Head.” But now, decades later, the bizarre Tex Avery-style killings are happening all over again and are on a collision course with a bizarre political campaign where a homicidal maniac wants to “Make America Green Again”!
MATTHEW: That tagline makes my teeth itch, but it’s been a while since we’ve had a bug#&$ Mask tale, so I’m looking forward to checking this one out.
METAL MEN #1
Writer: Dan DiDio
Artist: Michelle Delecki
Publisher: DC Comics
Cover Price: $3.99
SOLICITATION: The Metal Men are back! And back and back and back again, as we take a deep look into Doc Magnus’ lab as he experiments with what it means to be sentient. Meanwhile, a mysterious liquid Nth metal has appeared in the science site at Challengers Mountain that appears to have come through from the Dark Multiverse…
MATTHEW: I’m not sure about the art and I don’t trust the writer at all, but the return of the Metal Men has me interested. I’m just hoping that there’s not TOO much Dark Multiverse in this…
SUPERMAN SMASHES THE KLAN #1
Writer: Gene Luen Yang
Artist: Gurihiru
Publisher: DC Comics
Cover Price: $7.99
SOLICITATION: The year is 1946, and the Lee family has moved from Metropolis’ Chinatown to the center of the bustling city. While Dr. Lee is greeted warmly in his new position at the Metropolis Health Department, his two kids, Roberta and Tommy, are more excited about being closer to their famous hero, Superman!
While Tommy adjusts to the fast pace of the city, Roberta feels out of place, as she tries and fails to fit in with the neighborhood kids. As the Lees try to adjust to their new lives, an evil is stirring in Metropolis: the Ku Klux Klan. When the Lee family awakens one night to find a burning cross on their lawn, they consider leaving town. But the Daily Planet offers a reward for information on the KKK, and their top two reporters, Lois Lane and Clark Kent, dig into the story.
When Tommy is kidnapped by the KKK, Superman leaps into action-with help from Roberta! But Superman is still new to his powers-he hasn’t even worked out how to fly yet, so he has to run across town. Will Superman and Roberta reach Tommy in time?
Inspired by the 1940s Superman radio serial “Clan of the Fiery Cross,” Gene Luen Yang (American Born Chinese, Boxers and Saints, The Terrifics, New Super-Man) presents his personal retelling of the adventures of the Lee family as they team up with Superman to smash the Klan.
STEPHEN: Drop everything you are doing and grab this comic right now. This is so good from top to bottom, and I think the entire run is going to blow all of us away. Seriously, grab this comic you won’t be disappointed.
