Struggling against his urges to fight crime, he is suddenly sent down a path he thought he had left behind, wanting…needing to be a vigilante, ready to once again punch crime in the face and become the Black Terror!
Join Max Bemis (Moon Knight, Foolkiller) and Matt Gaudio (John Wick, Bettie Page) as they take you for a ride through the life of superhero and all the weirdness along the way.
STACY: We get a new look at the arrogant and battle hardened Black Terror in this issue. The subjects which are brought up, including PTSD and addiction, are broached in such a way that you just have to fnd out what happens next.
CATALYST PRIME: SEVEN DAYS #1
Writer: Gail Simone
Artist: Jose Luis
Publisher: Lion Forge Comics
Cover Price: $3.99
SOLICITATION: DAY ONE: Lorena Payan was the first to realize a meteor was hurtling towards Earth two years ago. Now, she’s the first to realize the Earth is in danger once more from something equally cosmic but far more sinister. As dubbed by a mystery figure, the Obsidian Men begin appearing silently all over the globe, and our heroes Noble, Summit, and Accell join together to investigate.
INGRID: While I’m not always a fan of event comics, this one intrigues me. Lion Forge has a cast of really interesting characters with a universe that is not overcrowded with heroes. As a starting point, the mysterious Obsidian Men fascinate me, so I am looking forward to this.
DAREDEVIL #12
Writer: Chip Zdarsky
Artist: Marco Checchetto

• After reuniting in explosive fashion with DAREDEVIL #11, Chip Zdarsky and Marco Checcetto continue their senses-shattering run on DAREDEVIL!
• As Matt Murdock continues to struggle settling into a life without his horned alter-ego, a FAKE DAREDEVIL is captured by dirty cops.
• PLUS: The ongoing saga of MAYOR WILSON FISK takes a brutal, bloody turn in a sequence that’ll have DD readers talking for months!
Rated T+
STACY: Daredevil is one of those titles which you just know you are going to get your money’s worth, and this month’s issue is no exception. This is a creative team which is going to have you on the edge of your seat every time.
DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS: A DARKENED WISH #3
Writer: Dave Walters
Artist: Tess Fowler
Publisher: IDW Publishing
Cover Price: $3.99
SOLICITATION: The Great Wyrm, Hoondarrh, has won the day. Impossibly, within the ashes of defeat, something even more sinister is set upon the winds. In the face of tragedy, loss, and betrayal, how can our heroes possibly prevail?
CHRISTOPHER: I normally look over D&D titles but I recognize the names. B. Dave Walters works with Geek and Sundry and Tess Fowler works on Kid Lobotomy. I figure I’ll come check this one out and see what it is all about.
GHOST RIDER #1
Writer: Ed Brisson
Artist: Aaron Kuder
Publisher: Marvel Comics
Cover Price: $3.99
SOLICITATION: The Brothers Ghost Rider are back! Johnny Blaze ain’t just the king of Hell-he’s the warden too. He’s the first line of defense between the demonic hordes trying to escape the joint and the lords of other hells making a play for his throne and all the power that comes with it – including a certain evil queen from his past! Meanwhile, Danny Ketch never wanted to be a Ghost Rider. Now that his brother’s in charge downstairs, Ketch must take on the duty of Earth’s Spirit of Vengeance full-time-no matter how much he’d rather be doing anything else…
MATTHEW: If Marvel’s going to commit to multiple versions of the same character, I’m glad that they’re apparently going to be committing to ALL of them. Johnny Blaze was my first Ghost Rider, and I’m glad that he’s still in the mix somehow. Here’s hoping this one is good.
GRENDEL: DEVIL’S ODYSSEY #1
Writer: Matt Wagner
Artist: Matt Wagner, Brennan Wagner
Publisher: Dark Horse Comics
Cover Price: $3.99

As civilization comes to an end on Earth, the final Grendel Khan gives Grendel Prime a new directive: Find a perfect planet to be the new home for the human race. But will the deadly and relentless paladin ultimately save humanity… or destroy it?
* Grendel Prime continues the legacy in a space adventure!
* Sci-fi, fantasy, and horror combine.
STACY: Wagner’s Grendel has always been a favorite, and this story takes Grendel Prime back to his days of glory. It is a solid pick for the pull pile.
LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES: MILLENNIUM #2

Publisher: DC Comics

MATTHEW: I liked issue #1. Maybe this one will even have some Legion in it!
STEPHEN: Great book! A great lead-in to the Legion of Super-Heroes series, and a very nice story featuring Rose and Thorn.
RUBY FALLS #1
Writer: Ann Nocenti
Artist: Flavia Biondi
Publisher: Dark Horse Comics
Cover Price: $3.99
SOLICITATION: Kill Time, Till Time Kills You! Ruby Falls is a sleepy town. But sleep brings nightmares, and Lana is about to wake up in the middle of her hometown’s biggest secret: the ”disappearance” of infamously progressive Betty Gallagher during the mobster-ruled heyday of the old mining town. When details of the cold-case murder start to come out through her grandmother Clara’s foggy, dementia-jumbled memories, Lana becomes obsessed with cracking the case, even if it splinters the peaceful town—and endangers everything she loves. From Ann Nocenti (The Seeds, Daredevil) and rising talent Flavia Biondi (Italian artist of La Generazione making her American comics debut) comes Ruby Falls: a neo-noir tale of love, memory, and murder mysteriously woven through three generations of women, and hinging on their individual, intertwined fights for freedom.
INGRID: A murder mystery, a generational story, speculation on the connection between memory and the truth, and female characters at the core – this sounds like it’s off to a great start. And to top it off, the art looks terrific!
SPIDER-VERSE #1 (OF 6)
Writer: Jed MacKay
Artist: Arthur Adams, Juan Frigeri, Stuart Immonen, Stacey Lee
Publisher: Marvel
Cover Price: $3.99
SOLICITATION: Miles Morales finally feels like he GETS this Spider-Man stuff… and then falls through a portal! But isn’t the WEB OF LIFE & DESTINY destroyed? Maybe not, True Believer. But who spun this new web? Regardless, Miles finds himself at the center of a multiversal adventure that will feature a who’s who of creators and characters as the series spins forward! And with a main cover by INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE character designer WENDELL DALIT!!! And each issue features #SPIDERSONAS from some of the biggest Spidey fans and comic creators both!
CHRISTOPHER: After the movie, I’m curious to see what they will do with the world. Plus, I really like Mild Morales as a concept and character..
STEPHEN: I’m all over this. Spider-Man and the related Spider-Characters have quickly become my new favorites.
