Meanwhile, in Mississippi, a mysterious stranger unleashes furious retribution in the name of justice. BITTER ROOT Cover As by SANFORD GREENE will be connecting through the first story arc.
INGRID: The story widens out as it’s now taking place in both Harlem and Mississippi. Berg and Cullen are facing a new and terrifying creature, and the plot is getting bigger. This is just such an interesting book; I recommend it highly!
GOD OF WAR #2

RODRIGO: I read the first issue of this and I thought it was pretty good. Still… it has that comic tie in problem of seeming like it won’t actually have any impact on the characters.
GODDESS MODE #1

SOLICITATION: In a near future where humanity’s needs are provided for by a godlike A.I., it’s one young woman’s horrible job to do tech support on it. But Cassandra Price’s life changes forever when she discovers a hidden digital world beneath our own, one where a group of super-powered women are locked in a secret war for the cheat codes to reality.
MATTHEW: This sounds really interesting, and I love Robbie’s art. I’m hoping this is the book I had hoped ‘Ready Player One’ was going to be…

RODRIGO: You know I’m here for the Hellboy Winter Special especially with that all-star creative lineup.
STEPHEN: This is a fantastic issue! Every Hellboy fan must pick this up, and everyone who is a casual Hellboy fan must pick this up. Even if you hate seasonal specials, you need to pick this up. In other words, this issue is so good, everyone needs to pick this up!

MATTHEW: Kevin’s latest chapter is almost at an end and I’m really afraid of what the title means for our hero and his family…

Jonah, Tom Servo, and Crow have been forced into public domain comic books and are desperately trying to riff their way out of them! But has Crow succumbed to four-color fever, or is the strange new persona he’s taken on hold a surprise for Kinga?
RODRIGO: If you listen to the Major Spoilers Podcast you’ve heard my issues with this comic. Still, I’m interested to see what happens to Tom Servo.
SILVER SURFER: THE BEST DEFENSE #1
Writer: Jason LaTour
Artist: Jason LaTour

But it falls to him who is the Silver Surfer to decide which planets will live…and which will feed the unending hunger of the world-devouring Galactus! A single honest person can tip the balance…if only the Surfer can find one in time!
MATTHEW: The first two chapters of the Defenders revival have been mighty interesting, but can they combine the new take on the Surfer with this new Defenders gig without messing up one or the other? I mean, Immortal Hulk worked…
WAR BEARS #3
Writer: Margaret Atwood
Artist: Ken Steacy
Publisher: Dark Horse Comics, LLC
Cover Price: $4.99
SOLICITATION: From the Booker Prize-winning author of The Handmaid’s Tale comes this historical fiction graphic novel tracing the Golden Age of comic books. With the triumphant arrival of VA Day, the victorious Allied Nations are filled with hope. For Al Zurkowski and Canoodle Features, the joyous event also brings a level of uncertainty. While the war is thankfully over, the small publisher finds itself a smaller fish in a massive pond, leading to a business decision that changes Al’s life forever.
INGRID: This is the conclusion of a great story that I have to recommend. Canada had a rich history of black and white comics, especially during WWII, and this is a story about life (sometimes difficult; sometimes rewarding) at that time at a small publisher in Canada.
