Legendary Comics has announced Pacific Rim Aftermath, a six-issue mini-series that is set one year before the upcoming Pacific Rim Uprising movie, scheduled to arrive on March 23rd.
The Aftermath series follows Jake as he searches for the truth behind the death of his father, Stacker Pentecost, and introduces Griffin, a former Jaeger pilot who now works as an enforcer for a corrupt mob boss, as well as a mysterious criminal figure called the Mech Czar, who rules the underworld with a steel fist. With an emotionally charged narrative that paves the way for what is ahead in the new film, fans will discover new revelations that point to the future of the Pacific Rim universe.
Pacific Rim Aftermath is written by Cavan Scott with art by Richard Elson, with special collaboration from John Boyega and Steven S. DeKnight, the writer and director of the film.
“I’m a huge comics fan, so having the chance to collaborate with the talented artist and writers on this series has been a rewarding one. The art and the storyline are top notch, expanding upon my character Jake Pentecost in a way that seamlessly connects the dots between the first film and Uprising. There’s action, story, heart and a few big surprises I can’t wait for you to experience.”
The first issue of Pacific Rim Aftermath is in stores now.
