Ready for a big surprise? The headline may have ruined it for you already, but Excalibur is returning in the pages of X-Men Gold Annual #1 from Marvel Comics!
To bring the team back to the comics, Marvel has hired Marc Guggenheim and Leah Williams to pen the issue with Alitha E. Martinez tasked to provide a lot of awesome art.
In X-Men Gold Annual #1, “the original Excalibur team will reunite for an exciting adventure that both long-time fans and new fans can enjoy.
But getting the gang back together proves to have its own challenges…and who is the new Braddock bundle of joy?”
X-Men Gold Annual #1 is scheduled to arrive in January, though an exact date was not available as of this post.
Excalibur was created by Alan Davis (who provides the cover art for the issue) and Chris Claremont in 1987. The Excalibur team is an offshoot of the X-Men and Captain Britain, based in the United Kingdom. Excalibur first appeared in Excalibur Special Edition, but the main Excalibur series ran for ten years (1988-1998).
