The Judge has had a pretty rough adventure — I feel like we haven’t really gotten to see him in his element, fighting corrupt lawmen and scaring superstitious, cowardly criminals. He’s spent more time unconscious, unable to fight ghosts with a lasso, and fighting off poison oak than being the badass scary vigilante he was designed to be.
So I cannot begin to tell you how delighted I was to have him get a little solo face time to try to explain his ethos (and human society in general) to a bunch of curious, critical lizard children. That whole conversation was one extended eeeeeeeeee of hilarious delight for me. And I feel like we learned a lot more about where he’s coming from conceptually.
“When do you take the mask off? Do you take it off to eat? … Um, do you want some food?”
“Do you have BAD NEST-WATCHERS? … Like, are they lazy?”
“Wait wait wait, you came here… and you left the corrupted nest-watchers with the nest?”
“Do you have a mate? No? Well OBVIOUSLY that’s why you’re so bad at this! You need to get a mate and have her do your plotting for you!”
“Well, why don’t you just tell them that that’s stupid, and that you should be the chief because you’re strong?”
“What? That’s stupid! You should get rid of money, it’s stupid!”
The Judge’s willingness to patiently, thoughtfully answer all these questions just makes me like him even more.
Also:
“Okay. You’re weird.”
[Completely deadpan.] “I have been told this before.”
It’s been a busy summer, so i haven’t commented in awhile, but rest assured, I’m still enjoying this great game and feel like everyone is doing such a great job, with extra praise going to Sam as the DM, and Stephen for being a great gamer despite having the additional tasks involved in producing the show. Thanks again!
Not that I am not enjoying the western but will we hear from the Torqletones again? I miss Ket.
Until we say it is not coming back, it is coming back. But it isn’t the Torqeltones… because… never heard from again…
“To soon man” I say, crying in a corner
