Since Critical Hit will be off next week, I want to say now that I am thankful for the amazing 51 weeks of content, as well as all of the other content produced by Major Spoilers. I want to thank everyone involved and wish you a happy holiday!
For those listeners that will really miss Critical Hit next week, I will suggest doing what I do every year and go back on the feed and find The Holiday Episode, which is between episodes #127 and #128, and listen to it. It’s only about 30 minutes long, but in this episode, Stephen, Mathew, and Rodrigo discuss plot hooks, skinning monsters, an reimagining treasure for a Christmas/Holiday themed one-shot. It’s a really fun episode. I’ve run Christmas and Halloween episodes inspired by this discussion..
Thanks again for all of that entertainment and inspiration!
As for this episode, I’m thought that the group name Sparklemotion was a good suggestion, and that Orbit donning his “Battle Fez” was one of my favorite moments. lol
Fantastic episode.
And I agree. The battle fez moment was one of my favorites.
Normal combat planning: “No plan survives encounter with the enemy”
Sparkle and her ducklings planning: “no plan survives” XD
Thinking about the mailbag letter: Seems like even in D&D, the DM could support non-lethal solutions with a creatively homebrewed magic item. Something that allowed a knocked-out creature to regain consciousness as neutral or even friendly, should they ever meet the party again. It would quickly put the onus of justifying killing blows on the bloodthirsty, rather than make the monk justify leaving enemies alive.
And a funny in-character voice, to make it clear when the player is role playing. It’s always clear when Matthew’s head is in the game, ’cause he used to talk like Torc, and now he just talks like a douchebag. SUCH a revelation to know that the obnoxious prig gets his charm from the vampire side!
When is someone going to ask QRD about the Drow disappearing? Or ask after Resplendent Tiger? I need to know these things!
