Richard Dent took to Kickstarter to bring his science fiction comic book to reality, and it has received enough support and interest that Dynamite Entertainment has nabbed the story for comic book distribution.
Based on Dent’s award-winning story, Myopia merges speculative fiction and steampunk into a thrilling alternative reality. Armed with a special set of lenses that make him almost invisible inside the Central Lens Network, James Chase sets out on a mission to stop the new world order’s violation of the Magnetic Energy Agreement. At first sold as a device to make life more convenient, the lens now works as a tool for the government to hide the devastation unleashed from excessive mining of the earth’s core.
“I’m very excited to be working with Dynamite. Myopia is a passion project for me, and I couldn’t have worked with a more talented illustrator,” said author Richard Dent in a statement to the press. “Patrick Berkenkotter is a perfectionist! His attention to detail and flawless renderings of human expression create the perfect balance between realism and fantasy, which was crucial in bringing the world of Myopia to life.”
To bring Dent’s vision to life, the writer will work with artist Patrick Berkenkotter, who you may remember from his work on Vampirella and Dark Shadows.
Myopia Special #1 will arrive in November 2016, which means if you want to get your hands on this, you need to preorder now.
