This has been one hell of a messed up week. We don’t need to rehash how awful the world seems to be at the moment, instead it seems like a good time to take a break. Which brings us to today’s deep thought.
What do you do when you seriously need to relax and refocus your energy?

I don’t want to sound like a stereotype but I usually unplug frim the world, retreat somewhere dark and cozy with a good book or tv show and a cat within arms reach. Chocolate is a good addition but optional.
Watching something that is just pure fun, like old Power Rangers, most Japanese Tokusatsu media (Godzilla, Super Sentai, etc.) or other shows or movies. Not something boring, but something with just enough of a plot to keep me interested, but not so much that I have to think it over too much.
Reading or playing certain video games (particularly those where you can just mindlessly “grind” for some experience or a little extra currency between storylines or big bosses) also helps. It takes just enough focus to help clear my head by holding my attention, but not so much that it drains me.
My greatest stress relief is my dog. Nothing like a long walk in the country with her to regain perspective
When the Massachusetts weather is behaving, I like to sit in a lawn chair in my backyard with a trade paperback and zone out. Also, writing reviews for Major Spoilers (#CheapPlug) :)
