DC’s Legends of Tomorrow returns this Fall, and will feature a brand new Vixen.
Before you get all up in arms and fire off angry Twitter comments to The CW, Megalyn Echikunwoke is still Vixen. The new Vixen, played by Maisie Richardson-Sellers, is the grandmother to the present-day Vixen.
According to Variety, Echikunwoke’s busy schedule is keeping her from appearing on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow next season, and because the show is all about time travel, the legacy character gambit is being used. If you are caught needing to use a character and the actor isn’t available, this is probably the best way around it,and is certainly better than having a voice over artist proclaim “this week, the part of Vixen is being played by…”
Because the creators are dead set on using Vixen, I wonder if that means her involvement in the episode/season is that important?
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow second season debuts on October 13th.

I…expletive love this! Not only because Vixen is one of my favorite DC characters, but also because the way they’re doing it is brilliant!
