AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #13

ROB: I guess Tony’s not particularly happy with Peter’s newfound success. As long as Dan Slott is writing Spidey, I’m reading it and enjoying every last moment. Amazing has been great since it came out last fall and continues to be great every issue.

BATMAN REBIRTH #1

JON: Those who know me know that I LOVE Batman so I’m a little biased to say the least. However, I can’t wait to see the how the revelations of Rebirth reshape the Dark Knight’s world in what promises to be a passing of the torch story as Snyder hands the Caped Crusader over to King.

STEPHEN: Definitely going to check this one out, if for no other reason to see what King and Snyder have planned for us.

WAYNE: I’ll continue to miss Mr. Snyder on Batman each month, but I’m fascinated by the prospects of what Mr. King has in mind. Gotta be reading this one for sure!

CIVIL WAR II #1

That said, Marvel has got me honestly interested in finding out how this latest senseless tragedy will be kicking off. I suppose that’s the power of good marketing for you…

GREEN ARROW REBIRTH #1

MATTHEW: The magic that is Shang-Chi involves a special kind of alchemy: The character only exists because 1974 Marvel held the rights to the TV ‘Kung-Fu’ and Sax Rohmer’s Fu Manchu, but somehow a unique and wonderful character was created, by committee. Steve Englehart, Jim Starlin, Doug Moench, Paul Gulacy and a host of other future superstars make this one worth the hefty Omnibus price-tag. Highly recommended, especially since I never expected they’d get back the reprinting rights!

SPIDER-WOMEN OMEGA #1

ROB: So far this series has been pretty great, seeing more of the Spiders from Gwen’s earth has been solid and the three characters interacting is fun. Looking forward to the conclusion here and seeing how it affects the trio going forward.

SUPERMAN REBIRTH #1

JON: After the events of Superman #52 and Rebirth, we technically don’t have a Superman in the DC Universe. Of course we know the pre-Flashpoint Man of Steel will be the one to don the iconic red cape and blue tights, but this issue has a lot of work to do to get us there and I can’t wait to see how everything unfolds.

MATTHEW: Any time a writer has to pick up the banner of “THE REAL ONE IS BACK, YOU GUYS!” it is a difficult balance, and when we’re dealing with THE Superhero, it’s even moreso. With the return of Clark/Lois, I’m definitely willing to see where this one is going…

THE SHADOW: DEATH OF MARGO LANE #1
