Action Lab Entertainment has announced a partnership with ZAG to develop comic books based on the animated series Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir.
“We are delighted to partner with the Miraculous team at ZAG. Their skills of developing superior quality animation with engaging stories that girls and boys can both identify with globally is unparalleled. Kids and young adult fans already love Miraculous and can relive the fun, action packed stories through ALE’s comics and graphic novels. Retailers are already clamoring for the release” said Bryan Seaton CEO and Publisher of Action Lab.
The animated TV series produced by ZAG, in conjunction with Method Animation, Toei Animation, and SAMG, is an action, adventure, comedy series that tells the story of Marinette, the sweetest girl in Paris. With a big crush on a boy at school, a big dream of becoming a fashion designer, and a constant problem of feeling totally awkward, she’s just your average teenage girl, right? Did we mention she’s also the crime fighting superhero of Paris, Ladybug?
Becoming Ladybug is a complicated process! First, Marinette needs a “Kwami,” which is a tiny magical assistant (hers is named Tikki). She also needs a “Miraculous,” which is a magical accessory (hers is a pair of earrings). Tikki uses the Miraculous to transform Marinette, but her Ladybug super powers only work for a limited time!
It is a good thing that she gets a little help from her superhero partner, Cat Noir… but she insists she doesn’t need him. If only she knew Cat Noir’s true identity – her crush, Adrien! Will Ladybug and Cat Noir be able to balance their double lives and keep Paris safe? Will they ever find out each other’s true identity? Until then – there’s a whole city of baddies to defeat… SPOTS ON, CLAWS OUT!
I know a number of people, young and old, who absolutely love Ladybug and Cat Noir, and it appears to be fairly popular around the world, so this deal seems like a great way for the franchise to continue and potentially reach a larger audience.
