My response at the reveal: http://safebooru.donmai.us/posts/557577?tags=kimi_ni_todoke+animated_gif
Great episode. Wonder why the organization doesn’t want people to travel between vertices. I sense a conflict coming between the gang and the Rebellious Daughter.
One of my favorite things about the show is that no one ever suspects the mysterious stranger in the weird hat of being the Queen’s Rebellious Daughter. The reveal is always a surprise. I’m so excited that we’re finally gonna learn what her deal is!
Speaking of learning what people’s deals are, is anyone going to ask Ket why he’s a cop and what the deal is with his family? That was probably the biggest surprise to me this season. I always assumed Ket didn’t have any close relatives, like he just sprouted fully formed from the skull of every Harrison Ford character.
In fairness its only ever happened once before. I just hope we get a name of this organizations she works so I can put it in the wiki
There’s a wiki!?
There have been many CH wiki’s over the years the one I’ve been working on and off on for over a year is here http://criticalhitpodcast.wikia.com/wiki/CriticalHitPodcast_Wiki Its the most complete CH wiki not that, that is saying much since some of the other CH wiki have 4 articles on them. before they died. This Wiki was much the same when I started working on it since it had been started then abandoned.
Sadly its to big a project for one person with a full time job with poor grammar and spelling to get caught up on but its my part to help out the show so I keep at it. That said all help is welcome =)
There a couple atempts out there but this is the one the players reference. http://www.tvtropes.org search for critical hit podcast.
AWESOME episode!
Thank you!
This season is just getting better and better. Between Sam laugthing and Rodrigos story you are catching some lightnings with that bottle.
Theory time!
Queen’s Rebellious Daughter and her organisation are made up of a race of creatures that once destroyed their own vortex in the pursuit of vortex travel.
So they want to make sure nobody else messes with it, so it doesn’t happen again.
“When in doubt, do the math!” But this time the math doesn’t work.
We are told 138 is the angle between dots/lines/vertices. We are also told that there are twelve vertices.
But doing the math for the interior angles of a polygon, 138º is not valid for a polygon with a whole number of sides. The closest we can get (without going over) is an octagon (8 sides) at 135º; a dodecagon (12 sides) is 150º.
An angle of 138º requires a polygon with 8.5714… sides. BTW, the math is: (180n – 360)/n
Or am I overthinking things?
You are. But you’re not wrong, I used the dihedral angle (138.189685) which admittedly is something else entirely, but it made for a sexier number.
Thanks for the confirmation that I was overthinking it!
Also, the angles are not of a polyGON but a polyHEDRON.
Like Rodrigo said, he used the “dihedral angle” which for an icosahedron (which has 12 vertices) is about 138°. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Table_of_polyhedron_dihedral_angles
Robert: [The robes that Ket is allergic to because it’s nice are] not skin tight.
Brian: … Skin *loose*.
Matthew: That’s not even a thing!
Rodrigo: God, Brian. Where are you even from?
Stephen: (whispering) Oklahoma.
(Sam’s infectious laughing is the BGM in the meanwhile)
This transcription is one of the many examples of why I love Critical Hit so dang much, on top of the fun twists and turns (and I am a huge fan of the Queen’s Rebellious Daughter so I’m happy to see her again! <3) :D
I’m curious if Ket still participates in the goings on of Kobold Alley? Also, wasn’t he charged with keeping an eye on Orem at the end of Lords of the Feywild… Have there been any noticed repercussions from this? Asmodeus doesn’t seem like the forgiving type if Ket didn’t follow his patron wishes.
Well since it doesn’t exist in these different vertices, no. Also, Asmodeus just told Kettle to not let Orem go or himself go, so Ket did not have to keep an eye on Orem.
I am so happy to finally be caught up on Critical Hit! What a great episode!
That said, I am very disappointed in Matthew. He missed a golden opportunity to make a “vertical mobility” joke. I can only hope The Queen’s Rebellious Daughter’s secret organization is called “The Glass Ceiling”. Rodrigo isn’t that tasteless, though. Is he?
I know a lot of people were excited by character reveals, but I was more excited by geometric reveals!
Like when QRD mentions “octahedral technology” and they have been traveling between vertices in an octahedron (the glowy double pyramid)!
I was thinking the multiverse would be a flat circle like the old Planescape D&D module. But it’s a sphere made of triangles with 12 vertices, also known as an icosahedron, also known as a d20! The podcast logo has been a diagram of the multiverse all along!
Hats off to Rodrigo, gentlefolk! Hats off!
WHAT?! WHAT?! This is the best show ever!!!
I created a diagram of what I think is going on:

Awesome! Thanks. Can Rodrigo confirm?
Cool. That’s pretty good, given the info you have.
I really, really like your illustration. I am a visual learner and it made it “POP” for me.
Great episode!
Loved Ket commiserating with Queen’s Rebellious Daughter over paperwork
Also, is it just me or was it obvious that Queen’s Rebellios Daughter wanted the party to interfere and get involved at the end? :)
