Deadline is reporting that Scott Rosenberg (who wrote Con Air, Pain & Gain and Gone in 60 Seconds), will be penning the upcoming Jumanji remake for Sony slated to drop on Christmas Day 2016.
Despite the fact that reactions to the announcement to remake Jumanji in the wake of Robin Williams’ passing Sony is determined to go ahead with the project. Filming will begin early next year on the film that is supposed to be as much a re-imagination as a remake of the 1995 original movie.
Do you think Scott Rosenberg is the right person to pen Jumanji? Are you looking forward to the movie? Let us know in the comments!

I can’t honestly think of a reason why they feel the need to have a remake of this movie, other than as a possibility of turning it into a franchise, and of course because Hollywood has clearly run out of ideas.
