During the Dark Horse: An Afternoon with Joss Whedon presentation in Hall H, the prolific writer/director wowed the crowed with tales of meaning of life, and even introduced a “Twist” to the idea of a dark knight vigilante.
During the presentation, Whedon addressed the crowd by telling everyone who he really is, “Continue to earn what you already have … I’m standing in front of all of you. I’m a writer! I have no business being here and pretending that I’m a rock star.”
With the Avengers out of the way, Whedon now has time to focus more on the craft of writing, and one of his newest projects is Twist.
“It addresses the amoral question that’s been facing us: Why isn’t there a Victorian female Batman?”
According to Whedon’s interview with Entertainment Weekly, “It’s a Victorian thriller about a meek chambermaid who is fed to a dark horror — but instead of dying, she returns, with knowledge, power, and rage she can neither deny nor control.”
Right now there is no word on a release date, but the promo art is by Julian Totino Tedesco, but he probably won’t be the interior artist for the six-issue mini-series.
