[LBCC] Lion Forge headed to Long Beach Comic Con

Press ReleaseBy Press ReleaseFebruary 26, 20153 Mins Read

    Press Release

To kick off its first year of print publishing, digital-first comics publisher Lion Forge has announced a slate of events and special giveaways at the Long Beach Comic Expo this weekend. Long Beach Comic Expo will start on Saturday, February 28 at the Long Beach Convention Center.

The action begins at 1:00 p.m. at Booth #704, when actor Flex Alexander (Snakes on a Plane, One on One, Flex & Shanice) will sign prints and convention-exclusive copies of his new comic book JOSHUA RUN, a high-tech hacker thriller. Con-goers just might get a chance to appear on camera with Flex if his reality TV show crew stops by.

Pastel t-shirt enthusiasts will have a blast at the MIAMI VICE: REMIX panel on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in Room S7. Superstar writer Joe Casey, fan-favorite artist Jim Mahfood, and former narcotics detective-turned-comics editor Shannon Eric Denton will be on-hand to answer questions about this unexpected neon-tinted riff on the classic neo-noir police drama from NBC. Convention attendees will receive a special gift that Casey and Mahfood will sign at the Lion Forge booth at 3:30 p.m., where Mahfood will also draw free sketches for fans.

Throughout the rest of the weekend, free giveaways will include convention-exclusive ashcan previews of MIAMI VICE: REMIX and KNIGHT RIDER, a new original graphic novel series featuring a modernized take on the fan-favorite NBC television series. The MIAMI VICE: REMIX and KNIGHT RIDER comics are developed through a licensing agreement with Universal Partnerships & Licensing.

“Lion Forge is taking 2015 by storm,” said Lion Forge Trade Show Manager Mike Olivares. “In our debut year for print books, we want to make a big splash, and Long Beach Comic Expo will be a strong start. We can’t wait to introduce some of these crazy cool books we’ve been working on to the fans.”
