Press Release
NBM Publishing returns to San Diego Comic-Con International and is proud to premiere New York Times bestselling cartoonist Jim Benton’s first print collection of his web comics, Dog Butts and Love. And Stuff Like That. And Cats. Known for creating, It’s Happy Bunny and Dear Dumb Diary, Benton’s web cartoons have become one of Reddit’s most popular draws and are known to be whimsical, dry humored and occasionally a bit nasty.
People Magazine named him “one of the most visible cartoonists in America.” and The Wall Street Journal said “Mr. Benton’s intellectual properties…have made him stand out in an industry dominated by big entertainment companies.” The winner of three Addy Awards and five top LIMA licensing awards, Benton’s creation It’s Happy Bunny has generated over 3/4 of a billion dollars at retail.
To support the release of Dog Butts and Love. And Stuff Like That. And Cats., Jim Benton will be appearing at Comic Con for the first time and will be at the NBM Booth (1714) throughout the weekend.
Also appearing at the NBM Booth is legendary cartoonist Rick Geary who will be previewing pages from his next graphic novel, a murder mystery starring Louise Brooks, which will be his first book through NBM that’s not part of his Treasury of Murder series. The book is planned to premiere in May 2015 at TCAF.
We’ll also have preview pages at the booth of some of our forthcoming books including the return of Dungeon with Twilight Vol.4, Annie Goetzinger’s Girl in Dior, Miss Don’t Touch Me’s Hubert & Kerascoet’s Beauty and an amazing homage to Rear Window, Pascal Rabaté’s Street View, an awesome accordion book.
In addition, we’ll have several prints available; free with a $30 purchase and a free signed version available with a $50 purchase. Choices include Jim Benton, Rick Geary, Stan Mack, Margreet de Heer and from Eurotica, Cornell Clarke and Kevin Taylor.
