(Chicago, IL) Anime Midwest, a three-day convention celebrating Japanese animation, video games, music and more announces its masquerade complete with a cosplay contest from 4-6 p.m. on July 5, 2014. Guests are invited to show off their best cosplay attire and have the opportunity to compete in the cosplay contest, where winners will receive free admission to next year’s convention.
Contest participants can enter in three different divisions based on cosplay experience: inexperienced, experienced and master. Entries will be critiqued by expert judges in two categories: performance and workmanship. Even those who do not wish to compete are eligible for honorable mentions in the exhibition category. Anime Midwest is a three-day convention celebrating Japanese animation, video games, music and more, similar to other cons like anime central, aka ACEN.
