Going back to his first appearance, anyone who has the balls to stand toe to toe with Magneto and chuck snowballs might just be crazy enough to pull this off, or stupid enough to die horribly while doing so.
This is a tough one. I think it all depends on what era of Iceman we’re talking about. Bobby’s powers have fluctuated wildly over the years, and he’s been shown as everything from a moderately powerful mutant to a true Omega level threat. If Bobby is in full form, I’m not sure there’s anything Torch can do to really stop him. I mean, Bobby has been turned into water vapor and then reformed himself.
I haven’t seen it – but Iceman hasn’t shown his powers have an ability to destroy all of mankind around him like Human Torch has. So, I’ve got to go with the matchstick and his supernova power.
Bobby’s powers are actually pretty damn mighty. He can rejuvenate from shattered remnants, or even a puddle, make ice based clones that act on their own (A future self actually) or add to his own mass with any available ice, water or even water vapor. But in the case of this fight, there is one key factor. His powers are NOT all about generating cold, but are about removing heat Johnny Storm is all about generating heat. So Iceman powers are directly about eliminating the Human Torch’s power.
So since he can’t be killed easily, put down and is designed to eliminate Johnny’s strength,,, gotta go Ice, Ice Baby…
It would all come down to speed–
Can Bobby reach absolute zero before Johnny goes nova?
Even if Torchey vaporizes him, Iceman can reform from the air itself.
i’m no expert, but after checking out some info, i’m going with Iceman, on account of the simple fact that Human Torch is a human being, and since Iceman has power over moisture and humans are made up of water, it just seems reasonable that Ice Man would ultimately be able to use that to his advantage; might be a close one, but Iceman takes it in the end
Although water can extinguish fire, cold and ice itself can’t extinguish fire, whereas enough heat can vaporize water before the water could extinguish the flame, which is why I voted for the Human Torch as victor. If they went all out, I don’t think Iceman could generate enough ice above the Human Torch to overcome his flames at full output.

I just don’t like Johnny and Bobby makes me happy. Easy choice.

For some reason I feel that Iceman can be a little more vicious in a fight to the death.
This is more about personality than power. I think Jonny would man up an take Bobby down. I would like to read this in a book thou, great poll.

Magneto once commented that Iceman was potentially one of the most powerful mutants on Earth.
