ANNOUNCING NEW MERCHANDISE DEALS
BEVERLY HILLS, CA – July 18th, 2012 – Vuguru and POW! Entertainment are proud to celebrate the one year anniversary of Stan Lee’s World of Heroes (SLWOH) YouTube Channel; the premiere destination celebrating all things heroes, villains and the world of fandom. On Friday, July 19th the comic book icon and living legend, Stan Lee, will return to San Diego Comic-Con to showcase the channel’s success and preview new digital programming with a panel of YouTube’s most successful stars and pop culture enthusiasts, including Sonya Belousova, iJustine, Tina Alexander, Daniel Baxter and Junaid Chundrigar.
With both scripted and unscripted shows, the channel offers something for everyone, from comic book fans with animated features like Bad Days, to pop culture enthusiasts looking for Stan’s opinions in Stan’s Rants, hero culture, the geek universe and beyond. These and the entire slate of programming are all flavored with Stan’s unique brand of humor and insight. The channel has proven to be an overwhelming success attracting over 22.5 million views and over 252,000 subscribers in its first year.
Channel veteran, Junaid Chundrigar, the co-creator of the animated viral sensation from SLWOH, Bad Days, will be joining the panel this year to discuss what made the series’ first and second seasons such a success. Bad Days shows us heroes and villains, outside the spotlight of their epic adventures, battling everyday annoyances on their worst days. Additionally, internationally recognized award-winning pianist and composer, Sonya Belousova, who has stolen the hearts of millions in the newly debuted Cosplay Piano, launched exclusively on SLWOH, joins the ranks for this year’s panel. In Cosplay Piano, Belousova plays exciting, original arrangements of hero themes from the most popular films, television shows and video games, all with a signature touch of cosplay. Belousova generated viral notability with her “Game of Thrones” and “Walking Dead” renditions and will excite Comic-Con attendees with a special performance at this year’s panel.
New partnerships taking center stage this year will be with award-winning YouTube sensation How It Should Have Ended (HIHSE) and one-woman phenomenon, iJustine, in partnership with AOL On. SLWOH and HISHE began their creative alliance earlier this year for a special episode of Stans’s Rants grabbing the attention of fans across the digital world. World of Heroes is proud to welcome the channel’s co-creators Tina Alexander and Daniel Baxter to the panel to announce another epic collaboration, focusing on Stan’s reimagining of blockbuster film endings. How It Should Have Ended joined forces with Starz Digital Media and together have grown the YouTube channel to over 2.3 million subscribers, positioning them as one of the leading channels for hero enthusiast culture and the perfect partner to align with for SLWOH. Stan also welcomes iJustine, one of the top subscribed female personalities on YouTube and digital influencers, to discuss her new AOL On show HardWired, exploring the world of wearable technology and the powers they have to make any one of us a superhero.
